Position Summary:

RMT is seeking experienced Instructors to deliver high-quality medical training in remote environments. The Instructor will provide direct teaching, demonstrate remote medicine skills, and facilitate hands-on learning. This role involves evaluating students, providing feedback, and ensuring instruction aligns with the most current RMT curriculum. Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Instructor will teach patient assessment and treatment for medical and trauma emergencies, as well as the use and care of emergency and remote patient care equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Student Engagement

  • Deliver high-quality instruction following RMT curriculum, methodologies, and standards.

  • Facilitate hands-on training and skill demonstrations for students in remote medical care.

  • Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and develop remediation plans when necessary.

  • Supervise and guide students through practical exercises, simulations, and scenario-based training.

  • Manage online course materials and interact with students in virtual learning environments when applicable.

  • Improvise adapt and problem solve each individual course and students needs.

Program & Course Administration

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate RMT educational program offerings.

  • Administer and grade quizzes, tests, and practical skill assessments as outlined in course curriculum.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, course participation, and training compliance.

  • Ensure all course paperwork is completed thoroughly and submitted in a timely manner.

Logistics & Equipment Management

  • Act as a point of contact for training facilities as required.

  • Manage and maintain assigned RMT training gear and equipment to ensure functionality and availability.

  • Identify and resolve logistical or administrative issues related to course delivery.

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Participate in ongoing professional education and instructor development.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, remote medical protocols, and EMS education standards.

  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.


Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum Medical Certification of NREMT EMT or Higher.

  • Remote EMT certification with documented patient care experience.

  • Strong knowledge of EMS curriculum, remote medical theory, and adult learning methodologies.

  • Ability to engage and educate diverse student groups effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Business Suites and online course management platforms.

  • High level of organization, professionalism, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining customer- and student-focused priorities.

Preferred:

  • Washington State EMT or Paramedic.

  • Washington State EMS Evaluator.

  • Washington State Senior EMS Instructor.

  • Experience in remote or wilderness medicine training.

  • 3 years certified as an EMT or higher level of medical provider

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This position requires a mix of classroom instruction and outdoor training, often in extreme weather conditions.

  • Standard office tasks such as using computers, phones, and filing systems may also be required.

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, and carry equipment for extended periods.

  • Regular use of hands for instructional demonstrations and equipment handling.

  • Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments.

Position Type & Work Hours:

  • This is a per diem, project-based position with varying hours.

  • Work may include nights, weekends, and extended travel.

Travel Requirements:

  • Extensive travel within company service areas is required.
