Remote Emergency Medical Technician (REMT)

The REMT course is our most comprehensive wilderness medicine course. Participants learn to manage emergencies in remote settings, including patient stabilization, extended care, and safe evacuation. This unique certification meets and exceeds wilderness medical standards by covering all Wilderness EMT (WEMT) curriculum, 

while also incorporating select higher-level capabilities. Students receive the EMT certification through the National Registry of EMTs, as well as the MCPIC (USCG) certification, if they choose. The REMT certification is recognized by the US Armed Forces, National Forrest Service, NOAA, National Parks, and numerous other national and international organizations. This program is also ideal for those seeking to pass the national registry exam (NREMT) for the first time or looking to bolster their wilderness EMT education and prepare for work in expedition and rescue environments.


Wilderness First Responder (WFR)

Our Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is the standard in wilderness medicine training. Designed for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts, this intensive program provides comprehensive training in patient assessment, injury management, and emergency decision-making. Graduates earn a wilderness medicine certification recognized internationally. We offer two options of 80 hours of education in person or a hybrid course that combines 20-30 hours of online coursework with five days of in-person training to provide intermediate medical skills to individuals working or playing in remote environments. 


Remote Medicine Advanced Provider (RMAP)

The RMAP course is our most advanced wilderness medic course and trains Advanced Life Support (ALS) providers such as nurses, paramedics, physicians, and physician assistants on sophisticated, life-saving techniques developed for use in challenging and remote environments. The course re-certifies you as a paramedic for the national registry and provides additional training for rural emergencies. Participants build on their foundational medical skills to handle complex cases, manage prolonged patient care, and adapt to extreme conditions. This course is ideal for those involved in medical training international programs or wilderness rescue operations and is 6 days of in-person training. It offers up to 56 hours of CAPCE-approved continuing education, which meet the current NREMT NCCP requirements for Paramedic recertification. 


Remote Medicine for Urban Responders (RMUR)

The Remote Medicine Upgrade and Recertification (RMUR) course fulfills the current NREMT NCCP requirements for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) recertification and meets requirements to renew or upgrade a current EMT to a Remote Emergency Medical Technician (REMT). This course is perfect for urban first responders seeking recertification in their wilderness and remote first aid course credentials. This course is 6 days of in-person training and up to 44 hours of CAPCE accredited continuing education.


Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is a foundational wilderness and remote first aid course designed for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure guides. This short but impactful program covers essential first-aid skills, including treating common injuries, preventing illness, and making evacuation decisions. Participants earn a wilderness medical certification upon completion.
