Remote Medical Training Future Courses Update April 13, 2020
Dear Remote Medical Training Clients and Students,
If you are currently registered in an upcoming course or are interested in registering for a course, but are concerned it may be affected due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, then this post applies to you! We have made the following adjustments and are providing the below options for our current and future students. We are actively working with the Washington State Department of Health in ways we can adjust our learning environments to accommodate the ever-important need for social distancing while still meeting the needs of our clients who are trying to become medical trained.
Re-Certification Courses
Any Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification that expires during the time period of January 1, 2020 - July 1, 2020 will be provided an additional grace period of six (6) months past their current expiration date if the students completes a Remote Medical Training Wilderness First Responder Recertification course in that time. We are currently looking at ways to provide quality recertification skills assessment while still maintaining social distancing to the standards that have been set forth by the Washington State Workforce Board and the Department of Health. We hope to have a solution by the end of this month for REMT and WFR courses.
Early Access to Online Training
We have received many questions from individuals who are looking to fill their time while staying at home, and many have been asking about early access to our hybrid courses. In an effort to help those interested in completing the online learning portion of our courses, we will be opening our online learning platform to all students enrolled in our 2020 hybrid courses with the exception of the H-REMT programs. Starting on April 14, 2020, all hybrid courses except H-REMT courses will be live once you register for the course. H-REMT courses at this time will be live one month prior to the in-person course start date as originally approved by the Washington State DOH. (We are working hard to change this)
If you are not yet registered, and you see a course between now and December 2020 you would like to attend and currently have time to complete the online learning portion, please sign up today.
Postponement Of Onsite Course Dates
If the course you signed up for is postponed, we will transfer you to a future course of the same type and value at no charge to you. With every onsite course cancelation, we will be adding additional future courses to the schedule in an effort to increase our student's options for onsite training dates.
Remote Medical Training's course cancellation policy is as follows:
- 30 or more days prior to the course start date: The student may transfer to another course within 12 months with no penalty or a full refund.
- 24 hours to 30 days prior to the course start date: The student may transfer to another course within 12 months or receive a refund less a $100 (WFR, REMT, RMUR, RMAP) or $50 (WFA, WFC) cancellation fee.
- On or after the course start date: In accordance with Washington State regulations, if a student cancels from the course once it has begun, he/she is eligible to receive a partial refund based on the percentage of course time they attend as outlined below:
- < 10%: The school may keep up to 10% of the course cost
- 10% – 25%: The school may keep up to 25% of the course cost
- 25-50%: The school may keep up to 50% of the course cost
- > 50%: The school may keep up to 100% of the course cost
Please note until otherwise specified any deposit or tuition may be transferred to another course, as long as the original course has not started or the course has been canceled or postponed due to COVID-19.
If a student chooses to cancel or drop a course that has already started, course time completed is calculated off of the last date of attendance or date of written/verbal notification to the RMT field or office staff of cancellation. For Hybrid courses, course time includes the online component.
Thank you for considering our program during these challenging times
We hope early access to our hybrid courses will provide you with the ability to continue learning and preparing in a time when medical training is of the utmost importance.
Thank you for your interest and understanding,
Tyler Nielsen
