Overview
The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) two-day training course includes short lectures, interactive labs, and realistic practice scenarios that help students master the central concepts of remote and wilderness medicine. This course teaches students how to respond and manage patients effectively in an emergency for up to four hours or until a higher level of care arrives.

Subjects Covered
Designed for the outdoor enthusiast or the employee working in remote or challenging locations, the WFA includes a broad range of introductory medical skills and topics. Subjects include patient assessment, lifting and moving patients, cold and heat emergencies, altitude, immersion, submersion, lightning, legal considerations, and more. Students also learn how to effectively manage basic wounds, infection, shock, head injuries, spinal injuries, respiratory and cardiac emergencies, abdominal pain, metabolic and allergic reactions, and altered mental states. 

Pre Requisites: 18 years or older

Duration: Two days, 8am - 5pm with a lunch break

Certifications: WFA (RMT)

Recertification Interval:  Three years for certification period.
