This course requires approximately 70 hours of pre-course online instruction and 12 days of in-person training.
Emergency Medical Technician from the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT)*, Remote EMT, Medical Care Person in Charge (MCPIC), and CPR from the Emergency Care Safety Institute (ECSI).
*Please note that passing the national registry exam is required for EMT Certification. The cognitive testing must be scheduled independently and performed at NREMT designated testing centers. Current EMT registration is required to validate REMT status.
Three years (REMT and MCPIC); Two years (CPR)
18+ years old, high school diploma or equivalent, PPD (tuberculosis) test at a doctor’s office within six months of course start date, record of immunization or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tetanus, ability to lift 250 pounds with assistance, a copy of government-issued photo ID such as a passport, drivers license, state issued ID card, military ID, etc.
MINIMUM TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Students must be able to complete eLearning coursework on a computer that is able to use Adobe Flash Player and use one of the following browser versions: Internet Explorer 7.0 and above, Mozilla 3.5 and above, Google Chrome 1.0 and above, or Safari 4.0 and above.
Students are required to purchase Emergency Care (13th Edition), which can be purchased here on Amazon. Students are not required or expected to read textbooks before the course start date.
Non Residential - does not include food and lodging. Please note that the course may or may not run on weekends. This depends on your specific course schedule. Students may be required to spend at least one weekend on a clinical rotation.
