Location - North Cascades Institute

Located on Diablo Lake in the heart of North Cascades National Park in Washington State, the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center campus offers unparalleled immersion. The surrounding mountains, forests, and extensive trail network provide an ideal setting for complex wilderness medicine scenarios. Lodging and food is included, allowing students to live and train in a true remote environment.

Students are responsible for their own transportation. The ELC is a three-hour drive from Seattle, WA, and best reached with a personal vehicle.

Prerequisites

Q: What are the academic and physical prerequisites for the Remote EMT courses?

A Students must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and have the physical ability to lift 250 pounds with the assistance of a partner.

Q: What medical documentation is required for the Remote EMT courses?

Due to the clinical nature of this training, the following medical documentation must be current and verified before your enrollment is finalized:

  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Influenza
