The Mountaineers came to us with a simple but powerful idea: their climbers, hikers, and backcountry folks needed real medical training, not just basic first aid. So we teamed up to create something that works for everyone.
Now their trip leaders get the certifications they actually need to keep groups safe out there. We opened the courses to all members because, honestly, anyone heading into remote places should know how to handle an emergency. Plus, our joint marketing brings in more people and generates revenue that goes right back into supporting what The Mountaineers do best.
It's been one of those partnerships where everyone wins—leaders feel more confident, the community gets stronger, and we're all helping keep people safe in the mountains.
Millers Landing, Alaska
Millers Landing had a practical problem: how do you keep guides certified when you're running a busy lodge in a remote location? We figured out an answer that made perfect sense—bring the training to them.
We set up shop right at their beautiful lodge, timing everything around their staff schedules. Their guides get the medical certifications they need without the hassle of traveling to town. But we didn't stop there. We opened it up to locals and visiting adventurers too, because who doesn't want those skills when you're surrounded by wilderness?
The lodge gets to showcase their property while we handle the training, and our combined marketing efforts put both businesses in front of new audiences. It's turned into this great community event where everyone learns something valuable.
UW Outdoor Center Bothel Empowering Campus Leaders and Students
UW Bothel's Activities & Recreational Center faced the classic college challenge: trip leaders needed solid medical training, and students wanted skills that actually mattered beyond the classroom. We worked together to solve both problems at once.
