With 17 years of dedicated service as an EMT and Firefighter for Whatcom County Fire District #11 on Lummi Island, Chris Immer brings deep community roots and extensive clinical experience to the classroom. Operating in a unique island environment—where 98% of 911 responses are medical in nature—has equipped Chris with exceptional patient care skills and a practical understanding of how to manage critical emergencies when definitive care and transport are delayed. Beyond their frontline field experience, Chris is a seasoned and highly credentialed educator. Having instructed Basic Life Support (BLS) programs for their fire department, the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Red Cross, and ECSI, they expertly blend nearly two decades of practical 911 experience with proven instructional techniques to deliver engaging, highly effective medical training.

The Journey to Remote Medicine
Living on an Island necessitates a remote view and action.
The motivation for all of my life is to serve Jesus Christ as my savior. The principles, morals and ethical behaviors found in the scriptures provide the most secure foundation of great patient care.
Teaching Philosopy
I desire to equip the students to do this very important work of taking care of others in need. I will do whatever I can to make sure they have the tools needed to succeed and work through any difficulties that may deter from attaining the needed credentialing.

Why I Choose to Teach
The need is great, and the requirements are very demanding. I know I can come alongside the student and give them the tools needed to be able to have success.
Most Memorable Field Experience
Continually serving my neighbors on our small island is always a memorable experience. Every call is someone in need. CPR calls all are in the front of my mind.
