As a Firefighter/EMT, Kyle Bingham has built a robust foundation on the front lines of prehospital care, expertly managing complex medical and traumatic emergencies in high-pressure environments. Beyond traditional front-country EMS, their medical expertise extends globally into remote and austere settings. Kyle has provided critical, standalone medical support across a wide array of challenging environments, including rugged land expeditions, remote maritime operations, and international field teams. By combining fast-paced 911 response experience with resource-limited expedition medicine, Kyle provides students with a uniquely adaptable skill set, teaching them how to confidently manage emergencies anywhere—from city streets to the open ocean.
The Journey to Remote Medicine
My journey to becoming a Remote Medical instructor grew from forging a less-than-traditional career where preparation, trust, and calm decision-making truly matter. From serving as a Firefighter/EMT to leading teams in remote and high-risk environments around the world, I’ve experienced firsthand how solid medical fundamentals and clear thinking can truly change outcomes. Instructing with Remote Medical Training allows me to pass on what I've leaned (so far) and the real-world context behind it. My hope is to help students build confidence, situational awareness, and the ability to perform when conditions are far from ideal.

Outside of emergency medicine, my wife and I own and operate a small coffee business in Washington’s Deception Pass State Park. For nearly a decade, we’ve spent our summers serving coffee and espresso to hikers, campers, families, and travelers, with the goal of adding a meaningful touch to their outdoor experience and helping create memories that last. I'm also a proud member or The Explorers Club and Team Rubicon.
Teaching Philosopy
My teaching philosophy is grounded in real connection. I understand that every student comes into the classroom with a different background, life experience, and reason for being there, and I work hard to meet people where they are (not always where a textbook thinks they should be). I value the experience students bring with them and use it as a foundation to build confidence and competence. I challenge students to step slightly beyond their comfort zone while creating an environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are simply part of the learning process. By tying medical theory directly to real-world scenarios, I help students connect the dots between what they’re learning and how they might actually use it.

Why I Choose to Teach
I truly enjoy watching people grow. There’s something powerful about seeing a student reach that aha! moment when the pieces click and confidence solidifies. Teaching keeps me learning as well; every class, question, and perspective challenges me to grow alongside my students. Knowing that those students will go on in many different directions to explore, serve, and help others adds a sense of purpose and satisfaction to being an Instructor.
Most Memorable Field Experience
My most memorable field experience was my role during the Titan submersible accident. Serving as Expedition Manager, Mission Director, and Incident Coordinator, the event tested every aspect of my operational capacity, leadership, emergency management skills, and personal resolve. The situation demanded clear decision-making with limited information, coordination across multiple organizations, resources, and countries, and steady leadership under intense global scrutiny. Equally challenging was navigating the aftermath—supporting families and teams, processing loss, and carrying the weight of responsibility that comes with leadership in high-consequence environments. That experience fundamentally shaped how I approach risk, leadership, and instruction, and continues to inform how I prepare others for the realities of complex, high-pressure situations.
